The core group of "Project Vision" educated in renown universities, and professionally active in fields such as business consulting, management training and medical sciences.
Dr. Jan Edlund studied business at the University of St. Gallen and Harvard University. He is a business consultant and conducts trainings for up to 3000 managers, yearly.
Dr. Anna Erat studied medicine at University of Zurich and at Harvard Medical School. Parallell to clinical work she is currently finishing her interdisciplinary doctoral-thesis in public health at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute and Zurich University Institute of Organization and Business Theories.
Hansjörg Baltensperger is the chairman of the Vision 2020 committee in Switzerland. Vision 2020 is a global initiative of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and the World Health Organization (the WHO), with a coalition of international Non-Governmental Organizations.
Skilled hospital staff in Ethiopia, specialized in ophthalmology, working both in well established permanent as well as mobile units. They work or are associated with highly regarded NGOs with ample field experience in Ethiopia.
- We are currently active in the Tigray region under the leadership of Edmund Gabriel, of CBM (www.CBMswiss.ch), and Dr. Fitsum Bekele, of the Tigray Regional Health Bureau and the Tigray prevention of blindness (PBL) program. The Quiha and Auxum hospitals serve as bases for outreach activity through 2 fully equipped secondary eye-care units and some 15 primary ones (PEC Units).
Volunteering students and professionals as well as sponsors from the private sector who through their services and expertise provide us with essential support free of charge.
